Dear Friends and Family,
Happy July! I pray that all of you have been doing well and had a restful 4th. I wanted to reach out to give some updates as my trip to Thailand in September is quickly approaching!
Life Updates and Preparation:
After graduating in May, I have been keeping myself busy by working on medical school applications, learning Thai, practicing the piano, and meeting up with friends! I spent a week in Arizona and Utah with my family, where we explored national parks and humbly stood in awe of God’s creation. I have also been immersing myself deeper in the Word through community group with my home church Christ Covenant Presbyterian Church (CCPC), weekly bible studies, and intentional time spent with my brothers and sisters in Christ.
Recently, I have also been meeting with my pastor along with my sister in Christ, Izzie, to discuss how to bring ministry to the mind, heart, and will as we spiritually prepare. Here are my current prayer requests:
Ministry to mind: To faithfully listen to God’s word and truth that He is presenting to me.
Ministry to heart: To humbly align my heart with the Lord and allow for spiritual growth.
Ministry of will: To unconditionally obey and follow God wherever He leads me.
Spiritual Reflections:
I have taken some time to reflect on my spiritual growth and how gracious God has been, and I wanted to share some of my recent thoughts with you all. First, while God has called me to Thailand, sometimes it can be difficult to see His ultimate plan for how he will use me overseas. After thoughtful prayer, I remembered that God reveals His wisdom through the Holy Spirit working through me, which I cannot comprehend on my own (1 Corinthians 2:10). I find comfort in knowing that even though I am filled with so much brokenness and doubt, I can rely on the Spirit to revive me with the Gospel as I prepare to share and interact with the kids in Thailand.
Second, when I do face these uncertainties, I remember that the love I have for Christ is known by Him, which is what truly matters (1 Corinthians 8:3). Having this love for God allows me to love others, as I am united in Christ. I know that He is working in me to speak His truth, and I am faithful that I will see the Holy Spirit working through the kids in Thailand as well, so they can build a relationship with the Lord and receive His sacrificial love.
Fundraising:
I recently booked my ticket and will be leaving on September 7! Regarding fundraising, the price of my trip has decreased due to an insurance change, and my new cost is $7300. I have currently raised $4485, which is 61% of my funds! I have been so blessed by all the generosity and love that has been poured out to me through God’s provisions. I also recently hosted a basketball HORSE tournament and will be having a bake sale at CCPC next week!
